Pray for Retreat Home
Prayer Update July 2026
There's a lot of good movement in every area of Retreat Home! It's a lot sometimes, but now that we have two Sarahs (our new Executive Administrator is also Sarah!) at the helm, our ship seems to be navigating the waters of change well. We had an exciting and encouraging stakeholders' meeting at the end of June. Each board member led a breakout room, and many good ideas and suggestions were shared. We are synthesizing everything discussed and will ask volunteers to partner with us as we move forward with some of these new concepts for the presentation and implementation of Retreat Home. Please continue to pray for that work and for us to be guided into good partnerships.
We were able to submit two grant proposals in June. As I usually ask you, please pray for financial generosity to be granted to us.
We need more host families. We've heard of two folks who might be interested in hosting, and we are pursuing those leads with gratitude. We need more! Please pray that barriers to our invitation to host, and the misgivings people have about this kind of hospitality, be removed. Pray the Spirit leads in this!
We need more partnering churches. I've had some good leads recently, and people are excited about our Trauma-Informed Approach workshops. Please pray that churches will want to partner with us, financially and in commitment to our mission.
Oh! And speaking of our mission, ours has changed and more accurately represents the impact of the ministry of Retreat Home. Our webpage is also being redesigned (thank you, Sarah L. and Steve!) and we've had great feedback on its clarity and content. Please take a look at retreathome.org and see our new mission statement!
Thank you for taking on the most important and impactful "behind the scenes" work that we do: praying.
With appreciation and blessings,
Sarah BW
